Welcome to the Bloggery Street blog. Let’s talk about Polish pottery from the town of Boleslawiec. I’m very familiar with this pottery because I import it. For a few years I’ve distributed it through stores, collectors, and the print catalog. However, aside from selling it, I use it every day. My entire kitchen is full of Boleslawiec pottery from Zaklady Ceramiczne. I can’t tell you how much I love it. It doesn’t chip, it’s durable, beautiful glossy shine every time, clean up easy… I mean it, I LOVE IT. So I’m here to share my love for this pottery, do some research about it and post it here, and I want to hear from you. What would you like to know about?Â
The warehouse is in Sarasota Florida, USA. We ship everything from here to make it easy for everybody. Unfortunately we do not have a storefront. If you happen to be in Sarasota, I don’t have a showroom with a beautiful display. If you come into the office, you can purchase any piece I have in stock (we aim for 97% in stock of our catalog).Â
One common request I have is regarding specialty items. Items that we do not carry. Can I get them for you? Mostly yes. So far we’ve been able to fill about 80% of all custom order requests… even though it takes about 7 months before product arrives. After matching patterns and styles, we send the request to the factory and see if the product can still be produced. If yes, we add it to our order. Keep in mind that every piece that is ordered from Poland is custom made. They do not keep it in stock. They take large orders only, and book them a few months ahead of time. Then they produce it, ships by boat (1 month), then customs has to clear it and finally arrive in Sarasota by truck. Then we ship it.Â
